Day 1: Welcome to Bogota
Arrival and Optional Cultural Immersion
Your adventure begins in Colombia's vibrant capital, nestled 2,640 meters (8,660 feet) above sea level in the Andes. Upon arrival at El Dorado International Airport, our team provides seamless transfer to Spotty Hotel, a stylish, design-forward accommodation within walking distance of historic La Candelaria.
Optional Afternoon Experience: Join your motorcycle guides for traditional Colombian lunch at Plaza La Concordia, followed by an English-guided walking tour through La Candelaria's cobblestone streets. Visit Plaza Bolívar and the renowned Botero Museum, home to Fernando Botero's distinctive works alongside pieces by Picasso and Monet.

The day's highlight awaits at Balneario El Manantial, one of Colombia's best-kept secrets. These hidden jungle swimming holes include a unique cave pool behind a cascading waterfall and natural pools accessed via a scenic 15-minute hike, often accompanied by wild parrots overhead. We arrive in riverside Girardot by sunset for group dinner.

Today delivers one of Colombia's premier off-road experiences as we journey to Salento, the iconic heart of coffee country. This challenging route follows remote backroads through spectacular terrain, offering beginner to intermediate unpaved riding with potential for muddy conditions.
Salento serves as gateway to two of the world's most remarkable wax palm forests. The Quindío wax palm, Colombia's national tree and Earth's tallest palm species, creates landscapes so extraordinary that Spanish settlers once mistook them for mythical trees. We'll visit both the famous Cocora Valley and the larger, less-visited Tochecito forest.
Upon arrival, we'll enjoy viewpoint perspectives of Cocora Valley before settling into our accommodations and gathering for group dinner.

Day 4: Coffee Culture Immersion
Salento Exploration Day
Salento offers rich experiences worthy of extended exploration. We begin with hearty breakfast before horseback riding through stunning valley landscapes, crossing lush fields, rolling hills, and multiple rivers in one of the region's most scenic adventures.
After lunch, a short motorcycle ride brings us to the iconic Cocora Valley for close encounters with towering Quindío wax palms. The afternoon features hands-on coffee farm experiences where you'll learn cultivation, harvesting, roasting, and brewing techniques while tasting Colombia's world-renowned coffee at its source.
Evening offers optional participation in tejo, Colombia's explosive national sport combining skill with gunpowder-powered excitement, traditionally enjoyed with local beverages.

This cloud-forest-above-treeline environment features haunting landscapes populated by frailejones, unique highland plants including Colombia's tallest species. Arriving in Guatapé, famous for its zócalos (vibrant hand-painted building panels), we'll climb El Peñol's 740 granite steps for 360-degree panoramic views over surrounding lakes and islets.

We then tackle one of Colombia's finest motorcycle roads through the Cordillera Oriental: flowing corners, perfect pavement, and sweeping valley views.
A stop at Mirador Alto del Ángel provides stunning panoramic vistas for final group photos before descending toward Bogotá. We navigate the capital's organized traffic, returning to our starting point at the Loco Moto office for trip conclusion.
