3 days of pure adventure • 13.5+ hours of riding • 479km through Colombia's wild side • 76% paved, 24% dirt • $575 USD
What happens when you combine 130-million-year-old dinosaur footprints, cliff-jumping swimming holes, lakeside kayaking, and remote mountain roads that most Colombians don't even know exist? You get three days that'll redefine what you think adventure touring can be.
Why This Tour Will Become Your New Standard
This isn't your typical multi-day ride. We're talking about a journey that takes you from Bogotá's chaos to places where the biggest decision is whether to jump off the 10-foot cliff or the 15-foot one. Crystal-clear swimming holes, waterfalls that cascade directly into lakes, and dirt roads that wind through terrain so remote you'll question if GPS even works out there.
Day 1: From Civilization to Prehistoric Swimming
Bogotá → Macanal • 4 hours 40 minutes • 193km of smooth pavement
We'll escape the capital early and cruise northeast through Boyacá's emerald hills. Coffee break in Guatavita, lunch in the quiet town of Santa María, then the real magic begins at Pozo La Calavera – a hidden canyon with crystal-clear water and the kind of cliff-jumping spots that make you feel like a kid again.
Plot twist: This swimming hole is also home to Colombia's best-preserved dinosaur footprints – 130-million-year-old tracks from iguanodontid dinosaurs discovered just a few years ago. Swimming where dinosaurs once walked? That's a conversation starter for life.
Tonight: Luxury mountain hotel overlooking the stunning Chivor Reservoir, where you'll fall asleep to absolute silence.
Day 2: Kayaks, Caves, and Roads That Challenge GPS
Macanal → Gachalá • 4 hours 45 minutes • 143km (80% unpaved adventure)
Morning starts with a 2-hour kayaking session on Chivor Reservoir, paddling past waterfalls that tumble straight into the lake. If conditions are perfect, we might even paddle into a secluded cave – nature's bonus feature when everything aligns just right.
Then we hit the dirt for real. Today's route takes us through remote mountain terrain that's all about the backcountry experience: forest tunnels, epic scenery, and roads that make you grateful for good suspension. We'll detour to Cascada La 70, a towering jungle waterfall that's worth every bump in the road.
Final destination: Lake Guavio, one of Colombia's most overlooked gems. Tonight you'll sleep in cozy lakeside cabins just steps from the water.
Day 3: The Scenic Route Reality Check
Gachalá → Bogotá • 4 hours 15 minutes • 143km of curves and contemplation
The ride home through twisty backroads and broken pavement that somehow makes everything more scenic. As we approach civilization, we'll stop at La Calera for one final overlook of Bogotá – a perfect moment to process three days of adventure before returning to real life.

Fair Warning About Accommodations
We keep tours affordable by using shared rooms and dorms. Think of it as built-in friend-making. Private room upgrades are available if you need your space and honestly you might not want to miss the upgrade to the private room on the first night. If you want to upgrade just ask!
Fair Warning About Colombian Reality
All riding times and distances are approximate because, well, this is Colombia. Sometimes we cruise faster than expected, sometimes we stop every five minutes for photos because the views are too incredible to pass up. And yes, occasionally Mother Nature decides to redecorate the roads with a landslide, which means we get bonus adventure via creative detours. It's all part of the authentic Colombian motorcycle experience – and honestly, some of our best stories come from the days that didn't go exactly as planned.
