The Ultimate Coffee Triangle Experience
6 days of Colombian coffee country magic • 27+ hours of riding • 783km through diverse terrain • Mix of scenic paved roads and thrilling off-road adventures
There's a reason everyone visits Colombia's Coffee Triangle: it's absolutely stunning. But most people see it through bus windows while sipping overpriced lattes. You're going to experience it the right way: on two wheels, off the beaten path, and with stories that'll make your friends seriously reconsider their last "adventure" vacation.
Over 6 days, you'll ride through Colombia's most beautiful region, soak in volcanic hot springs, explore wax palm forests on horseback, and discover why Colombian coffee conquered the world. By the time you roll into Medellín, you'll understand why this route is pure magic.
Day 1: The Swimming Hole Appetizer
Bogotá → Girardot • 5 hours • 151km • Mix of paved and off-road
We'll kick off the tour with a quick escape from Bogotá and head straight to our first stop: Tequendama Falls. This legendary waterfall plunges 132 meters (433 feet) off a cliff into a forested canyon, one of Colombia's most iconic natural landmarks and a powerful way to start the journey.
From there, we cruise southwest through rolling Andean foothills to our secret weapon: hidden jungle swimming holes complete with waterfalls that'll have you questioning why you ever went to crowded beaches. It's one of our absolute favorite spots in the country and the perfect warm-up for what's coming next.
Tonight: Girardot, where you'll fall asleep knowing the real adventure starts tomorrow.
Day 2: Into the Wax Palm Kingdom
Girardot → Salento • 6.5 hours • 199km • 80% off-road adventure
Today we get serious about dirt riding through Colombia's most spectacular off-road terrain: high mountain trails, mist-covered cliffs, deep river valleys, and the kind of riding that reminds you why you started this whole motorcycle obsession.
The crown jewel: Tochecito Wax Palm Forest, a remote sanctuary holding 80% of the world's wax palms. These giants are Colombia's national trees, growing up to 60 meters tall, in a valley closed to tourism for decades. No crowds, no tour buses, just you and some of the most extraordinary trees on Earth.
Evening reward: Descending into colorful Salento where Coffee Region hospitality meets mountain charm.
Day 3: Coffee Culture Immersion
Salento exploration • Light riding, maximum experience
Today we trade handlebars for saddles, horseback riding through valleys, rivers, and lush countryside that defines this region. You'll explore landscapes that look like fantasy novels come to life.
Afternoon brings the famous Cocora Valley, home to Colombia's most photographed wax palms and views that'll ruin regular countryside forever.
Then comes the education: a working coffee farm tour where you'll discover why Colombian beans conquered the world. From growing to harvesting to roasting, you'll learn the complete process. Fair warning: this will absolutely ruin regular coffee for you.
Evening offers dinner at one of Salento's best restaurants, followed by optional tejo, Colombia's explosive national sport that's exactly as fun as it sounds.
Day 4: The Most Beautiful Road
Salento → Hot Springs Hotel • 3.5 hours • 119km • Through Los Nevados National Park
Today we're riding through what Colombians consider the most beautiful road in their country. That's saying something in a country full of spectacular roads.
We're talking high elevation here, so pack your layers because it's going to be cold. But the views at altitude are worth the goosebumps. After lunch in Manizales, you'll understand why locals get emotional talking about this route.
Then comes the perfect reward: soaking in volcanic hot springs after a day of mountain riding at one of our absolute favorite hotels in Colombia.
Tonight: Hot springs hotel
Day 5: Hidden Colombia Discovery
Hot Springs Hotel → Jardín • 5 hours 15 minutes • 169km • Remote back roads
After breakfast (and possibly one last soak), we're taking the back way to Jardín through routes most people never see. This is remote, beautiful off-road riding through landscapes that'll have you pulling over for photos every few kilometers.
Forget the main highways. Today's about discovering the Colombia that exists between the popular destinations. The scenery is so spectacular it feels almost unfair to the people stuck on buses.
By late afternoon, we're rolling into Jardín, one of Colombia's most charming towns and the perfect place to recover from a day of epic riding.
Tonight: The charming town square of Jardín
Day 6: The Historic Bridge Finale
Jardín → Medellín • 3 hours 45 minutes • 145km • Mix of paved and legendary finale
Breakfast in the town square, then we're heading into the mountains for our grand finale. The day includes off-roading down an abandoned railroad track to cross the famous Amagá Viaduct, a century-old steel bridge that's become a bucket-list destination for adventure riders.
By late afternoon, you'll be rolling into El Poblado, Medellín's upscale neighborhood, with enough stories to last until your next adventure.
Tour ends in Medellín (but the memories are just beginning)

Fair Warning About Accommodations
We keep tours affordable by using shared rooms and dorms. Think of it as built-in friend-making! Private room upgrades are available when possible if you need your space.
Fair Warning About Colombian Reality
All riding times and distances are approximate because, well, this is Colombia. Sometimes we cruise faster than expected, sometimes we stop every five minutes for photos because the views are too incredible to pass up. And yes, occasionally Mother Nature decides to redecorate the roads with a landslide, which means we get bonus adventure via creative detours. It's all part of the authentic Colombian motorcycle experience, and honestly, some of our best stories come from the days that didn't go exactly as planned.
