The Adventure You've Been Plotting
8 days of mountains to Caribbean • 42+ hours of riding • 1,344km from coffee farms to coastal paradise • Mix of epic off-road and tropical cruising • From $2,400 USD
Tired of the same old "ride here, take a photo, ride there" tours? Yeah, us too. This isn't that.
Over 8 days, we're taking you through Colombia's greatest hits and more importantly, the places other tours don't even know exist. We're talking hidden swimming holes with waterfalls pouring through cave ceilings, wax palm forests that hold 80% of the world's remaining trees, and that one beach town where locals still wonder why gringos are so excited about glowing water.
Day 1: The Swimming Hole Appetizer
Bogotá → Girardot • 4 hours 45 minutes • 141km • 95% paved
We'll kick off the tour with a quick escape from Bogotá and head straight to our first stop: Tequendama Falls. This legendary waterfall plunges 132 meters (433 feet) off a cliff into a forested canyon—one of Colombia's most iconic natural landmarks and a powerful way to start the journey.
From there, we cruise southwest through rolling Andean foothills to our secret weapon: a hidden swimming hole deep in the mountains, complete with a natural cave, a small waterfall pouring through the ceiling, and some perfectly cool waterto beath the jungle heat. It's one of our absolute favorite swimming holes in the country.
Tonight: Girardot, where you'll fall asleep knowing the real adventure starts tomorrow.
Day 2: Into the Wax Palm Kingdom
Girardot → Salento • 6 hours 30 minutes • 199km • 20% paved, 80% "this is why we came to Colombia"
Today is where your "just another motorcycle tour" expectations go to die.
We're spending the day carving through high mountain trails that most people never see: past rolling green mountains, through river valleys that look like movie sets, and into terrain that'll have you questioning your suspension setup (in the best way possible).
The crown jewel? Tochecito Wax Palm Forest. These giants grow 60 meters tall (that's 20 stories), they're Colombia's national tree, and this valley holds 80% of the world's remaining wax palms. It was closed to tourism for decades, so you're basically getting VIP access to one of the planet's most exclusive forests.
By late afternoon, we roll into Salento (all colorful buildings and coffee shop charm) where you can finally stop gripping the handlebars and start gripping a cold beer.
Day 3: Time Travel to Coffee's Past
Salento → Salamina • 6 hours • 224km • 95% paved perfection
Ever wonder what Salento was like before Instagram discovered it? Today you'll find out.
Salamina is what happens when a colonial town decides it doesn't need tourists to be awesome. It's authentic, untouched, and exactly the kind of place that makes you feel like you've discovered something special (because you have).
The road from Manizales delivers freshly paved curves, little traffic, and views that'll have you wanting to pull over for photos every few minutes. It's the kind of riding that reminds you why you got into this obsession in the first place.
We're staying at La Leyenda 1860 - a 19th-century colonial mansion turned into a boutique hotel. After lunch, we're taking a short ride to the least-visited wax palm forest in Colombia. Same epic trees as the famous spots, but with about 99% fewer selfie sticks than Cocora Valley.
Day 4: The Legendary Bridge Ride
Salamina → Medellín • 6 hours • 224km • 95% paved + one legendary detour
Today we're heading to the City of Eternal Spring, but first—everyone's riding across a century-old railway bridge suspended over a jungle canyon. That's not a typo, that's a promise.
The Viaducto de Amagá isn't just any bridge. It's a bucket-list destination for adventure riders, an engineering marvel from the 1920s, and absolutely the kind of thing you'll be talking about for years. The railway doesn't run anymore, but thrill-seeking motorcyclists? We've claimed it.
Riding across is surreal: narrow steel tracks, running water below, and views that make you forget you're basically riding through Colombian industrial history. It's not for the faint of heart, but let's be real, that's exactly what you came here for.
By evening, we'll be in El Poblado, Medellín's upscale neighborhood where the restaurants are excellent, the nightlife is legendary, and your biggest decision is whether to stay out late or rest up for tomorrow.
Day 5: Choose Your Own Adventure
Explore Medellín (Your Choice, Your Adventure)
Option 1: Free Day in the City of Eternal Spring
After several days of epic riding, today is yours. Sleep in, explore at your own pace, or dive headfirst into everything Medellín offers.
Want street art and real stories? Head to Comuna 13 for a graffiti tour that'll give you perspective on this city's incredible transformation. Nature calling? Take the cable car up to Parque Arví—it's like a nature reserve floating above the city. Culture more your thing? Plaza Botero has those famous oversized sculptures, and the Museum of Antioquia is right next door.
Option 2: Moto Trip to Guatapé 4 hours round trip | 160km | All paved
Can't sit still? Neither can we. Join your guide for a ride to Guatapé, where you can climb the 740 steps to the top of El Peñón (trust us, the view is worth the cardio), grab lunch in the most colorful town in Colombia, and maybe pick up some souvenirs that don't scream "tourist."
Note: Guatapé excursion is an additional $94.46 USD requires add-on during checkout.
Day 6: Hello, Caribbean!
Medellín → Necoclí • 6 hours • 224km • 95% paved
Fair warning: this is our longest riding day. But there's a reason for the extra time in the saddle—we're hitting the Caribbean coast, specifically the Afro-Colombian region that most travelers never see.
By afternoon, you'll be trading mountain air for sea breeze, Andean peaks for palm trees, and the sound of your engine for the sound of waves. Necoclí might not be on the typical gringo trail, but that's exactly why we love it.
Tonight: Makai Beach Hostel (where the Caribbean is calling your name)
Day 7: Our Favorite Beach Town in Colombia
Necoclí → Rincón del Mar • 6 hours • 224km • All paved coastal perfection
Today we're riding up the coast to our favorite beach town in Colombia. Rincón del Mar is the kind of place where time moves differently, partly because there's not much reason to hurry, partly because the beaches are too perfect to rush past.
Spend the afternoon doing absolutely nothing productive. Seriously, that's the plan. Beach, beer, maybe a book if you're feeling ambitious.
But as the sun starts setting, we're heading out on a boat for something truly special: bioluminescent plankton. Think Avatar's glowing forest, but in the ocean. Every movement in the water lights up like nature's own light show. It's the kind of thing that makes you forget about your phone for a few hours.
Day 8: The Colonial Fortress Finale
Rincón del Mar → Cartagena • 6 hours • 224km • 95% paved
Spend the morning working on your sunburn and pretending you don't eventually have to go back to real life. Then it's time for the final push up the coast to Cartagena.
Rolling into this UNESCO World Heritage city on a motorcycle feels appropriately epic. The colonial walls, the fortress, the Caribbean heat: it's the perfect punctuation mark on an incredible adventure.
Note: The tour officially ends in Cartagena, so accommodation and dinner are on you tonight. But don't worry, we've got recommendations for where to stay, eat, and continue the celebration.

Optional Add-Ons
Can't get enough of the tour? Add an extra day excursion in Cartagena.
Our favorite way to spend a day in Cartagena? Well, it's not in Cartagena.
Spend the day island hopping the Rosario Islands on a private boat tour tailored to your group. Want to booze it up? There's a cold ice chest on board waiting to be filled. Prefer a quiet day? We've got pristine beaches for that too. The boat experience is completely customized to what your group wants: from party boat hopping between beach clubs on the islands to peaceful beach lounging.
Lunch, beers and cocktails not included (we'll stop on the islands for food and drinks)
Note: This add-on does not include accommodations and any additional meals after the official tour ends, but we can make it happen if you want. Just ask!
Additional $629.70 USD split amongst the group. Requires add-on during checkout.
The Investment
From $2,400 USD per rider

Fair Warning About Accommodations
We keep tours affordable by using shared rooms and dorms. Think of it as built-in friend-making. Private room upgrades are available if you need your space—just ask!
Fair Warning About Colombian Reality
All riding times and distances are approximate because, well, this is Colombia. Sometimes we cruise faster than expected, sometimes we stop every five minutes for photos because the views are too incredible to pass up. And yes, occasionally Mother Nature decides to redecorate the roads with a landslide, which means we get bonus adventure via creative detours. It's all part of the authentic Colombian motorcycle experience – and honestly, some of our best stories come from the days that didn't go exactly as planned.
